I’ve had a few things percolating in my head for a while now. I guess this post is my attempt to tie them all together in a coherent way.
I don’t know about you, but in high school I felt a lot of pressure to do something big. I got good grades, and I won some awards, and I began to hear people say, “I wonder what she’ll do.” And I was the one asking myself this loudest of all, because I believed everyone when they told me I was talented and smart. I made it through the school year! Finals are done and the weather is sunny (at least once in a while) and it’s summertime.
I’ve been busy figuring out what my summer is going to look like – I can probably plan on a whole lot of readin’ and writin’ (we need to handle our financial situation, are we a nation of states? What’s the state of our nation?).
One of my classes this semester is an Environmental Law course, and for this course we were asked to watch the documentary Earthlings, which is about the ways animals are used by various industries.
Some background: I dabbled in vegetarianism throughout high school, but didn’t really do it right. I ran cross country, and I ended up with some pretty low iron levels, and I always went back to eating meat. Continue reading “The (oh boy) Vegan Post”
I pretty much cross the state when I drive home from school. Last time I made a special playlist for the trip, and thought I’d share it with y’all. Maybe you’ll find some new favorites! Continue reading “My Driving Playlist”
In Wisconsin we’ve been alternating between crazy-warm weather (in the 40s!) and blizzards. But as soon as March hits, it’s officially spring in my book. This may be partly because after 4 months of snow and wind, I’m craving sunlight like Toucan Sam craves Froot Loops.
It’s been ages since I posted something. I haven’t made the effort to keep up a regular posting schedule, and I’m not sure how I feel about that.
You guys who post twice a week? Incredible. I love reading your posts, and you’re inspiring. But I don’t know if I’d say you’re #goals, because everything comes at a price. And I’m not sure if I’m willing to pay the price to be a really good blogger. #isitreallygoals
Classes are picking up, club meetings are every night, there are football games and benefit dinners and volunteer opportunities and jobs… but actually, I’m doing pretty well.
I’ve had some pretty busy semesters in the past, and I definitely learned a lot about myself from them. Like that I need downtime to be able to function. Time for books and writing and music and long walks in the October air.
As readers, obviously, we like stories. Music is basically A Story + A Sick Beat, so maybe that’s why so many readers are also into music. I’m doing my first ever Top Ten Tuesday post today, a feature from The Broke and the Bookish. The topic happens to be All About Audio, so I get to branch out a bit and spread the love for some of my favorite albums. Picking favorites is hard enough as it is, so this is definitely not in any particular order.
